Amazing ships, not amazing but not too bad inside, great physical resources on the harbour but not an incredible interactive experience, volunteers are friendly and helpful, definitely worth a visit but probably not a second visit. Overall a great activity to kill an hour.

We were pushed for time so only walked in the navy ship and the endevour. Both kids loved and didn’t stop asking questions. The submarine unfortunately was booked out so couldn’t go on that.

We did the see it all ticket to include the wonderful National Geographic Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. But we really did it for the ships and maritime history. So much to see. With coffee break and quick lunch, and not doing everything, spent nearly 5 hours fully occupied. The extra $8 to do the submarine tour is worth it and is well organised. Self guided over HMAS Vampire and sail ship Duyfken are most interesting. The museum is very well arranged. While not maritime enthusiasts, there was a myriad of very absorbing displays and information. Well worth a visit while in Sydney if not time poor!

Was in Sydney with my teenage daughters and had a few hours to kill so went to the Maritime museum, mainly to see the Vampire and the Onslo and other ships outside. Was disappointed to find that, having paid full price to get in, some of the exhibits were closed and/or unavailable. Also learned we would have to pay a further $8 each to go onto the Onslo (something that was included in the admission price last time I was here), and book in to a set time to go on-board, something that was impractical for us as earliest time was 4 hours from our arrival. Wandered through the Vampire (interesting as always) and then went to look through the indoor exhibits only to find that many of the interactive parts of them were also closed! We ended up leaving after about an hour quite disappointed.

paying the admission fee was no problem discount for Veterans and Pensioners. Thought $15 was a bit much for a child, Thought that was the price including a visit to the Onslow and Vampire. NO only the top deck of the Vampire. . We had to pay a extra $8 per person for the tour on the Onslow, Supposed to be because of Covid, Yet last time we went it was free included in the admission price, The tour lasted a few minutes , Worth $8 no. Won't be taking any visitors to see it,

Happened to be walking by with my partner and thought "why not have a look"... So glad we did! Staff took time out of their day to have lengthy, in-depth chats with us and were so bright and bubbly as soon as we walked in the door! Great experience! Plenty of social distancing observed and was great to get to check out some of the ships open! Was very impressed with the Wildlife Photographer of the year exhibit - for someone who's not usually into photography - this was MESMERISING and we ended up purchasing the coffee-table book! Ticket pricing is a little on the expensive side, but was totally worth it - solely based on the interactions we had with staff. Very happy to have stopped in, and we will be back!

Situated on the harbour it is well worth a visit. Gives a history of Sydney harbour with some interactive exhibits.

Recently we visited the Australian National Maritime Museum located in the Darling Harbour precinct. The price of entry for seniors is $25 per person. First of all we visited the submarine HMAS Onslow. It was well worth a look. You board the submarine at one end and exit at the other end. It is a tight fit in some spots but it is a very interesting tour. If you look up the periscope you can see Centrepoint Tower. Then we went on to the Destroyer HMAS Vampire. Here again, this is well worth a look. There are many interesting areas to inspect in this large destroyer ship. You can see the officers had a bit more luxury than the other personnel. We found the staff on board both vessels to be very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. Then across the way, there is the museum. When we were there they had a spectacular photographic exhibition of various aspects of wildlife. This was truly sensational. You were not allowed to take pictures in this section. Many other interesting exhibits are also available in this museum to inspection. We had an enjoyable time. There is a nice cafe opposite if refreshments are required.

Popped in here on a rainy day in Sydney. Lovely museum including a frigate and a submarine plus the more normal exhibition style museum. Good value ,interesting nice staff!! Ideal for kids don't miss it.
